Calgary Water rates have increased 15%+ since 2020, making irrigation efficiency more valuable than ever. This guide covers the specific rebates, upgrades, and programming changes that reduce Calgary irrigation water consumption — and the real dollar savings each delivers.
Calgary Water Rates — 2026 Reference
| Tier | Consumption (m³/month) | 2026 Rate (per m³) |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 0–15 m³ | ~$1.89 |
| Tier 2 | 15–30 m³ | ~$2.52 |
| Tier 3 | 30+ m³ | ~$3.78 |
In peak irrigation season (July), a Calgary home watering 3×/week at 20 min per zone (8 zones) uses approximately 35–45 m³/month — triggering Tier 3 pricing. Optimized smart-controller scheduling can bring this to 20–28 m³/month, reducing Tier 3 consumption by 50–80%.
