What Counts as a Sprinkler Emergency

• Active water loss: A zone is running continuously and will not shut off; water is actively flooding an area
• Broken backflow preventer: Water contamination risk or required by city inspector
• Burst pipe causing water damage: Underground pipe break with water entering foundation or causing yard flooding
• Pre-event system failure: System failure immediately before a landscaped event or property inspection
• Late-season freeze risk: System has not been blown out and a hard frost is forecast within 24-48 hours

What to Do Before We Arrive

If a zone won't turn off: Locate your irrigation main shutoff (typically in the basement or at the meter) and close it to stop active water flow. This does not damage the system. Call us and leave it closed until we arrive.

If a backflow preventer is spraying: Close the main irrigation shutoff. The backflow preventer requires replacement — do not attempt to repair it yourself as it protects your potable water supply.

Frost emergency: If a hard frost is forecast within 24 hours and your system has not been blown out, call immediately. We prioritize frost-emergency blowout calls in fall. If we cannot reach you same-day, we will advise on temporary shut-down steps.
