What services does J and G Irrigation provide as a Calgary irrigation company?

J and G Irrigation provides new irrigation system installation from $3,800 for townhomes to $12,000 for large homes including City of Calgary plumbing permit, backflow preventer and registration, zone valves and lateral pipe, popup heads, and smart Wi-Fi controller. Annual spring startup with City certified backflow test and zone-by-zone coverage walk. Fall winterization with 185 to 375 CFM commercial compressor blowout for $150 to $330 by zone count. Irrigation repair at $85 diagnostic fee credited to repair. Smart controller upgrades and drip zone additions.

Why should I choose a local Calgary irrigation company over a national franchise?

A local Calgary irrigation company like J and G Irrigation has Calgary-specific expertise that national franchises lack: knowledge of Calgary clay soil infiltration rates and cycle-and-soak programming requirements, understanding of Chinook wind exposure effects on head specification, familiarity with City of Calgary permit requirements and backflow registration procedures, knowledge of Rocky View County and Foothills County requirements for acreage properties, and direct accountability for systems they install over their full 20 to 30 year service life.

How do I book service from J and G Irrigation as a Calgary irrigation company?

For service and repair, call directly and pricing is provided by phone based on system size and service type.

How much does sprinkler winterization cost in Calgary?

Professional sprinkler winterization in Calgary costs $80 to $150 for most residential systems depending on the number of zones. J.G. Irrigation offers flat-rate pricing with no surprise fees. Call 587-433-4795 for an exact quote.

When should I winterize my sprinklers in Calgary?

Calgary sprinkler systems should be winterized before the first hard freeze, typically between late September and mid-October. Booking by September is recommended as appointment slots fill up quickly. A hard freeze (below -4°C overnight) can crack irrigation pipes within hours.

What happens if you don't winterize your sprinklers in Calgary?

Skipping winterization in Calgary can result in cracked pipes, burst valves, broken backflow preventers, and damaged sprinkler heads from ice expansion. Repair costs from freeze damage typically run $300 to $1,500 or more — far exceeding the cost of a professional blowout.

Can I winterize my own sprinkler system?

DIY sprinkler blowouts require a compressor rated at 20+ CFM at 50 PSI and precise knowledge of your zone layout. Improper technique can damage head diaphragms, crack PVC fittings, or leave water in low spots that will freeze. Most Calgary homeowners find professional blowout service the safer and more reliable option.

When should I turn on my sprinklers in Calgary in spring?

The safe window to activate your Calgary sprinkler system is mid-May to early June, once overnight temperatures are consistently above 0°C and the ground has fully thawed to at least 6 inches deep. Activating too early risks pipe damage from ground frost.

What does a spring sprinkler startup include in Calgary?

A professional spring startup includes slowly opening the main water supply valve, pressurizing each zone, inspecting every sprinkler head for damage, adjusting head rotation and arc, checking the backflow preventer, testing the controller schedule, and confirming full coverage across all zones.

How do I know if my sprinkler system has a leak?

Common signs of a Calgary sprinkler leak include soggy or waterlogged patches on your lawn, a sudden spike in your water bill, uneven watering across zones, sprinkler heads that stay up after the system shuts off, unusually green stripes in the grass, and soft or sinking spots in the yard.

How fast can J.G. Irrigation fix a broken sprinkler system?

J.G. Irrigation offers same-week sprinkler repair service across Calgary. Most residential repairs — broken heads, leaking valves, stuck pop-ups — are completed in 1 to 3 hours. Call 587-433-4795 or book online for priority scheduling.

How much does sprinkler repair cost in Calgary?

Sprinkler repair in Calgary typically costs $75 to $250 for common issues like broken heads, stuck pop-ups, or clogged nozzles. Valve replacements run $100 to $300. Underground pipe repairs depend on depth and length but usually fall between $200 and $600 for residential systems.

J&G Irrigation: Local Irrigation Company in Calgary

J&G Irrigation is a local Calgary irrigation company providing professional sprinkler system installation, annual startup, repair, and fall winterization service. As a local company — not a national franchise — J&G Irrigation designs and installs systems specifically for Calgary conditions: clay soil, Chinook wind, the City of Calgary odd/even watering restriction, and the October freeze window that makes fall winterization the single most critical annual service for any Calgary irrigation system.

Why Choose a Local Calgary Irrigation Company

Calgary-specific expertise: A local Calgary irrigation company knows the soil conditions, water pressure characteristics, frost depth, and City permit requirements that differ from other Alberta municipalities. National franchises apply one-size-fits-all specifications that do not account for Calgary clay, Chinook wind exposure, or Rocky View County permit processes.
Direct communication: Calling J&G Irrigation at 587-433-4795 connects you directly with the team — not a call centre. Service requests are handled by the people who will actually perform the work.
Accountability: A local Calgary irrigation company stands behind its work for the long term. J&G Irrigation services the systems it installs through their full 20-30 year service life and responds to warranty concerns directly.
